ASE tensioning elements must always be placed on the lock side of the chain. The tensioning element fitted as close as possible to the large wheel should guide the chain from the outside. The ideal position of the tensio-ner should be at an angle close to parallel to the chain drive.

V-belt pulleys can be mounted in any position on the loose side of the V-belt. For belts with longer axial distances and high vibration, it is recommended to use deep grooved pulleys.

In sprocket systems, on the other hand, the roller chain is mounted by tensioning in the first assembly. Care should be taken to ensure that at least three teeth are connec-ted between the wheel on the tensioning arm and the chain.

For V type tensioners to be mounted from the outside of the belt, you must first learn the tension values of the belt, so consult the belt manufacturer. If a double tensio-ning element is to be used, make sure that the next arm to which the belt is tensioned is placed as far as possible from the pulley to be tensioned.
